As my personal coach Linda demonstrates the exceptional ability to blend professionalism with sensitivity in helping me understand how to assess my conduct and actions in order to be more effective in communicating with my co-workers. She expects the best from you and she gives you her best. While Linda guides you through the analysis of a problem she makes it clear that the ultimate decision is yours. She is a compassionate but stern task master. You must shoulder the responsibility of using her assistance in the most effective way to ensure you get the outcome you want. Her approach is so great because you learn by doing.

As example, in my case, I needed clarification from a superior as to the extent of my authority. She guided me through an analysis of the problem and helped devise an approach that allowed me to have a discussion with my supervisor in a manner wherein I did not push any of the wrong buttons. In doing so, she alerted me to the need to be aware of certain elements of my personality and behavior so I could frame the discussion in a way that was assertive and clear without appearing to be aggressive and demanding. Most of all, she taught me how to communicate with my co-workers so that I did not let my anxiety over the “culture of in-direct communications” obstruct my ability to get what I needed in order to get the job done.
